PUBLIC ART - SHORTLISTED
The Route Followed was a shortlisted, unbuilt public art project commissioned to enhance the public open spaces of Lightsview, a new residential development in Adelaide’s northeast. The site is the former airfield, Northfield, where the successful aviators of the 1919 competition to fly from England to Australia landed. The site responsive design uses steel circular forms to locate each of the 25 refuelling locations of the historic journey on the plan but importantly did not erase or replace the found site conditions.
